Tie care tips:
- Hang up your ties on racks designed for the purpose. It helps reduce wrinkles. Knit ties are prone to stretching when hung, it is better to roll them up and store them in a drawer.
- Rolling up your tie from the narrow end first and leaving it for a couple of days will remove wrinkles in the tie. You can also steam your tie to soften wrinkles, do not iron it however as it can damage to the material.
- Storing ties out of direct sun light prevents colours fading.
- Cut any loose threads on your tie. Pulling them will cause damage to it.
- Unknot your tie by reversing the knotting procedure when you are not wearing it. Leaving it knotted can leave permanent wrinkles and damage the tie.
- Avoid washing your tie, as most ties will shrink unevenly due to the different shrink rates of the materials it is made out of.
- Avoid putting your tie in direct contact with perfumes and cologne, as they can warp the colour of the material.
- Most stains can be removed by blotting the tie with water, letting it dry then gently wiping the surface with a soft material. Tougher stains may require blotting with a cleaning agent, but please first test it on the material on the back of your tie to see if the agent will damage your tie.
